because I’m rugged. While checking out the 3d TVs (see below) I happened to come across the Sony Bloggie. I’ve been thinking about a Flip-type camera and this confirmed that I def wanted one. After seeing that it was a dope-looking HD camera for $160 bucks, I had the associate fetch me one (in pink) from the back right away. Then I stopped myself. I hadn’t even done my research. Here’s a quick rundown of my findings. Please not we might not be looking for the same thing so read at you own discretion. I have always wanted a waterproof camera. No waterproof case available for the Bloggie. Likely because it’s hot off the presses. Possible because, with its 360 degree swivel lens, waterproofing just doesn’t work out. Conversely, The Flip does have a waterproof case option. It looks fairly functional (access to all of the cameras features while in the case), but fairly goofy (ridiculous looking and only available for certain models). Also, The Flip can not reaaally be used as a reg camera. It only takes stills from video. What was I to do. Then I saw this! The Kodak PlaySport. HD video, sleek, 5MP still photos, waterproof up to 3 meters (thats like feet!), and auto image stability. Only bummer… not available until April 2010. Bummer! So I pre-ordered mine (in gray) today. i can’t wait for it to arrive. A lot of people advised against a Kodak camera (the irony), but I didn’t let that stop me. Seems to have all the specs I’m looking for at a decent price-point. In the meantime, I discovered that my Lumix takes pretty awesome video. The real shame is that it takes the mini-mini usb and not the more commonly found mini standard. Oh well. I will not let the wire stop me! I can’t wait for automatic streaming/upload in high quality. Future! Now all I need is some content.
