We went to check out on of Levon Helm’s Midnight Rambles over the weekend. Keeping with teh theme of making a weekend out of things, we also got tix for Steve Kimock at the Bearsville Theater. I honestly wasn’t very excited about going to this show since I’d never even heard of the dude and it was a slight rush to get up there on time Friday night. The theater was insanely nice and totally not what I expected. We were hanging out in the lounge area most of the night where it was totally relaxed, awesome decor, and you can hear the show, which was also good.

This is the “daytime view”, but it looks even better at night.

Although Josh was devastated about the strict no photo policy, the actual Levon Ramble on Saturday was insanely good. Little Sammy Davis & this band The Duke and The King opened. Little Sammy was amazing. The Band was good if you could get past the lyrics and unbearable emo moves they were all doing. The crowd was super into them though. They sounded like they could have been from Tisch. Def a Broadway trained ensemble. When Levon came out I was a little shocked. He’s about 80 lbs and vary frail, but to my pleasant surprise, he totally  shred it on the drums. He also seemed mentally sharp, was crackin jokes, and busting out shocking dance moves. He can speak at all, but I think my voice had def sounded worse than that before. Being in the house was just a cool experience overall. BYOY, communal food table (before we got there we agreed to try any baked goods, but then everything looked pretty legit), and a real bathroom with shower yay!
